The trail takes you along the palm tree-lined riverfront and up into the narrow, winding streets of the old quarter. Using the Adventure Hunt App (available on both Android<\/a> and iPhone<\/a>) to guide you, find landmarks, solve puzzles \u2013 with helpful hints if you get stuck - and uncover \u2018fun facts\u2019 along the way.\r\nIt\u2019s a loop walk (with 20 puzzles) starting in the car park next to the fishing huts and sports complex. Buses No. 14 and 15 also stop nearby.\r\nHighlights<\/h3>\r\n- traditional fishing huts on the waterfront\r\n- the Old Quarter with the castle ruins and historic church\r\n- stunning views across the estuary\r\n- nature reserve boardwalk, dunes and swimming options\r\n\r\nThere are plenty of other interesting things to see along the route including the Lota (old fish market) and statues commemorating the village\u2019s fishing heritage. It\u2019s also one of the best places to eat oysters, sourced freshly from the bay. Stop for a seafood lunch at one of Alvor\u2019s riverfront restaurants or combine the Adventure Hunt with some beach time, go flamingo spotting on the Esta\u00e7\u00e3o da Biodiversidade de Alvor walk, or play a round of crazy golf at one of 2 nearby courses.\r\n\r\nThere are 2 hunts to choose from: Family or Standard. Both hunts are 2.1km long and have 20 clues; the Family Hunt making more use of observation and stronger hints if you can't work out the answer. They can be completed in around 2 hours, but you can take as long as you like - provided you finish before dark, or you might struggle to find the clues!\r\n
