Comillas Escape Room Experience
Comillas Adventure Hunt is an interactive experience that combines elements of scavenger hunts, treasure trails, walking tours, and escape rooms. Think of it as a self-guided puzzle walk – blending sightseeing with problem-solving, turning a simple walk into an engaging and inspiring experience. Only 18.50€ per group.
The Comillas Adventure Hunt takes place in the heart of Comillas. We start at the Fuente de Tres Caños, and then meander our way through the charming historic streets of the town center. Along the way, you’ll discover famous sites such as Plaza Corro de Campíos, San Cristóbal Church, Plaza de la Constitución, the old town hall, an observation deck overlooking the sea, the old town jail, and finally the Sagrado Corazón de Jesús viewpoint for a beautiful sweeping panorama of the city.
The route is almost a loop, returning you to around 250m from the start location. It covers approximately 1 km and consists of 23 clues. It includes some gradual elevation.
You should allow 1 to 2 hours to complete the hunt, but we recommend taking your time. Bring water, maybe a snack, and enjoy the journey at your own pace. If you prefer to enjoy some local foods or refreshments along the way, you’ll be in the perfect area of the city to do so, with restaurants and bars galore!
To make sure everyone is engaged, we suggest groups of 2 to 4 participants. If your group is larger, split into smaller teams for a fun, friendly competition. Gather your friends or family, challenge your minds, and discover Comillas in a brand new way.
Adventure is waiting! Are you ready?

Comillas FAQ
Is the Comillas Adventure Hunt an escape room?
The Adventure Hunts are not an escape room but it is a fun experience with similar challenges that need some teamwork and lateral thinking. It is very enjoyable for people who enjoy escape rooms. Everything takes place outside, at your own pace – there is no race against the clock. In fact, we encourage people to take a break for a drink or something to eat and enjoy the lovely surroundings that the Adventure Hunt is set in.
Is Adventure Hunt a walking tour of Comillas?
The Adventure Hunt in Comillas takes you throughout the historic town center, showing you some places that you were possibly not aware of. However, it is not a replacement for a historical or guided walk as the focus is on having fun rather than learning.
Is the Comillas city escape room experience suitable for families?
Yes, Adventure Hunt is great for families. We recommend a minimum age of 8-12.
are the clues complicated?
This is a really difficult question! What we can say is that out of the 10 initial test groups, no single clue was found to be difficult by all groups. Every group did find a couple to be quite challenging, but they were almost always different clues from the other groups.
So we can assure you that you are not faced with any impossible puzzles.
How do I win?
Having fun is winning so there is no need to be too focused on the score. That said, Adventure Hunt has a scoring system, with each clue offering a maximum of 20 points. Collect as many points as you do your Adventure Hunt and compete with friends and other groups.
Can we compete against another group?
Live scores are available within the Adventure Hunt App. You will be able to see the scores of everyone doing the same hunt as you on the Clue Completed page. We encourage a 10-minute break between groups.
Please contact us if you have multiple groups. We can put up a specific configuration so that all of your groups can start on separate clues at the same time.
About Comillas
Comillas is a picturesque coastal town in the autonomous community of Cantabria, in northern Spain. Set between rolling green hills and the Cantabrian Sea, this charming village is known for its striking modernist architecture, aristocratic heritage, and peaceful seaside atmosphere. Despite its small size, Comillas boasts a unique cultural richness that sets it apart from other towns in the region.
WHERE MODERNISM MEETS SEASIDE TRANQUILITY
Comillas has medieval origins but rose to prominence in the 19th century thanks to the patronage of Antonio López y López, the first Marqués de Comillas. After making his fortune in Cuba, he returned to his hometown and brought in leading architects and artists of the time, transforming the town into a showcase of modernist and neo-Gothic design. Among them was Antoni Gaudí, who created one of his earliest works here. The town soon became a summer retreat for Spanish nobility and intellectuals, leaving behind an elegant architectural legacy that still defines its character today. Surrounded by natural beauty and steeped in history, Comillas offers a quieter, more refined coastal experience.
MUST-VISIT ATTRACTIONS AND HIDDEN GEMS IN COMILLAS
El Capricho de Gaudí: One of the few works by Antoni Gaudí outside Catalonia, this colorful villa is a masterpiece of early modernism. Its distinctive ceramic sunflower tiles, intricate ironwork, and musical-themed details make it one of the town’s most iconic landmarks.
Palacio de Sobrellano: This grand neo-Gothic palace was built as the residence of the Marqués de Comillas. Its ornate façade and richly decorated interiors reflect the wealth and ambition of the era. Nearby stands the equally impressive Pantheon Chapel.
Universidad Pontificia: Perched on a hill overlooking the town, this imposing complex is one of Comillas’ most striking buildings. Originally a seminary, it combines neo-Gothic and eclectic styles and offers panoramic views over the surrounding landscape.
Cementerio de Comillas: Often considered one of the most beautiful cemeteries in Spain, it sits on a hill with sweeping sea views. Its most famous feature is the haunting sculpture “El Ángel Exterminador.”
Parque Güell y Martos: A peaceful green space ideal for a relaxing walk, offering beautiful views over the Cantabrian coast. It also includes a small playground area, making it a pleasant stop for families.
Playa de Comillas: A beautiful, wide beach just a short walk from the town center. With its golden sand and scenic setting, it’s perfect for relaxing, swimming, or enjoying a quiet stroll along the shore.
Local Gastronomy: Comillas is a great place to enjoy traditional Cantabrian cuisine in a more laid-back setting. Fresh seafood, hearty stews, and regional specialties can be found in its small restaurants and taverns. Try some “rabas” (fried squid), “chipirones” (small squid), “almejas a la marinera” (clams in seafood sauce), “merluza” (hake fish), and other local products including cheese, wine, cider, “orujo” (a traditional spirit), and anchovies.
