More Information

Portimão Adventure Hunt

Adventure Hunt is a self-guided outdoor escape room experience that combines elements of scavenger hunts, treasure trails, and escape rooms, turning a simple stroll into a fun activity. It blends sightseeing with problem-solving and encourages you to be observant and pay attention to your surroundings to find the clues and solve the riddles.

Use our Adventure Hunt App on your own Android or iPhone to guide you along the 2km trail, taking you along the promenade and through the old quarter, finding landmarks, solving puzzles, and uncovering ‘fun facts’ along the way. Hints are available if you get stuck, and there is no equipment to collect or guide to meet before you start.

Follow the painted path to locate the artist among the Ribeirinha’s marble statues, spot the difference in one of the city’s decorative murals, find the hidden lions at Palacio do Sapal, and solve the equation outside the Igreja do Colegio.

The route gives you a good look at a side of Portimão that is sometimes missed by visitors heading straight for the beaches. You will explore the Ribeirinha waterfront before heading into the older streets of the city, with traditional buildings, squares, churches, street art and plenty of small details to find along the way.

There is no rush. Allow around 1.5 to 2 hours, or longer if you want to stop along the way. Portimão has plenty of cafés, bars and restaurants, so take a break whenever you fancy one and carry on when you're ready.

Book online and start whenever you like. There are no guides or fixed departure times, so plan your Adventure Hunt in advance or decide to do it on the day. Adventure Hunt is available in English, Spanish, German, French, Italian, Portuguese and Dutch.

Each booking covers a group of up to six people. We recommend groups of 2-4 so that everyone gets involved. If there are more of you, split into smaller teams and add a bit of friendly competition.

Why do Portimão Adventure Hunt?

Explore somewhere different: Portimão is much more than Praia da Rocha. The Adventure Hunt takes you around the waterfront and into the old part of the city, giving you a reason to explore streets and places you might otherwise miss.

Flexibility: book online and play whenever you want. There’s no set start/end time or date.

Set your own pace: there’s no time limit. Stop for a coffee, lunch or just to enjoy the waterfront and continue when you're ready.

Private and independent: there’s no tour group to join and no guide to follow. It is just you and the people you choose to do it with.

Family-friendly: no specific knowledge is needed. You find the answers by looking carefully at what is around you, with hints available if you need some help.

Hidden details: some of the answers are right in front of you, but that doesn't necessarily mean you will spot them straight away! The puzzles encourage you to look more closely at Portimão and notice things that most people simply walk past.

Excellent value: only €19.50 per group. With a recommended group size of 2-4 people, that makes it an inexpensive way to spend a couple of hours exploring Portimão.
